Linda Fay Wadaga, age 66 of Baraga, MI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at UPHS-Marquette General Hospital.
She was born in L’Anse, MI on March 29, 1954 to Arne and Frances (Thomas) Takalo. Linda graduated from Baraga High School in 1972 and received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Suomi College as a Registered Nurse. Linda dedicated her life to helping others and worked at Baraga Memorial Hospital for over 2 decades, working in the ER, OR and cardiac rehab areas, as well as Bay Ambulance for 36 years. She married Gary Wadaga on June 24, 1989 at St. Ann Church in Baraga. She was the rock and hero of Gary’s life! Her family was the absolute love of her life.
Linda loved shopping, gardening, birdwatching, waterfalls, lighthouses, Halloween, Christmas, spending time with her family, and traveling. She recently was diagnosed with an incurable cancer which she remarkably beat – this exemplifies her strength, toughness, resilience and how she lived her life. She was even more beautiful inside than she was out. Linda was a member of St. Ann Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Wadaga of Baraga; children, Jason (Jen Johnson) Turunen of Scottsdale, AZ, Brandon (Joy) Turunen of Phoenixville, PA, and Kendra (Corey) Ash of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren Payton, Carter and Lindsey Turunen all of Phoenixville, PA; brother Roger (Jan) Takalo and niece Rachel of Pensacola, FL; sister Barbara (Randy) Trudeau of Marquette and niece Gabrielle of Midland, MI; mother-in-law Peggy Wadaga of Baraga and the extended Wadaga family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law Ray Wadaga.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 10th from 5-7:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. On Wednesday, November 11th there will be visitation from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church. Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will follow in the Baraga Cemetery.
