Obituary: Liam Lewis

Liam Lewis, born Lily Mae Makenzie Lewis, life came to an end on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

Born a two spirited person on November 16, 2007 to Joseph and Raven (Pelcher) Lewis. Liam was an up and coming artist who of coarse enjoyed painting, listening to music, knitting and watching television. He loved to read, checking out 7 books at a time from the library and bending the ears of the librarians. He loved to talk and connect with people young, old, and in between.

Liam was the kindest, gentlest, nonjudgmental person, never speaking a bad word about those who hurt him, and he will never be hurt again. Not many knew how amazing he was, but he knew, as he said so many times.

Liam is survived by his mother Raven and father Joseph both of Mt. Pleasant, MI; sisters Digwage and Sky; brothers, J.J. and Taven; grandmother Betty Kauppila of Baraga; grandfather Milton “Beaver” Pelcher of Mt. Pleasant; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

In his death he will be giving so much help by having his organs harvested.
