Kevin Andrew Denomie, age 26 of Baraga, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse, Michigan.
He was born January 22, 1997 in L’Anse, MI son of Donald and Cheryl (Tolonen) Denomie. Kevin attended L’Anse Area Schools. He worked at Peninsula Powder Coating for three years until becoming a full time daddy. He loved his kids and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends; he will be greatly missed by all. Kevin liked music and was an X-box gamer.
He was a descendent of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, and a member of the Bad River Band of LAke Superior Chippewa Indians.
Surviving are his father Donald “Reet” Denomie of Baraga, MI; mother Cheryl Denomie of L’Anse; fiance Kiersten Loonsfoot of Baraga; son Karter Allen Denomie and daughter Kaylynn Alaina Denomie of Baraga; siblings, Shawnee (Henry) Smith of Watersmeet, MI, Donald Keith Denomie Jr of Marquette, MI, Ashley (Jennifer Karacson) Denomie of Marquette, MI; and nephew Darryn Tolonen of Marquette.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 8th from 1-2:00 p.m. at the KBIC Zeba Hall. A traditional native service will take place at 2:00 p.m., led by Paul Halverson, with a feast to follow the service. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
