Kelly Marie Shelifoe, age 52 of Zeba, MI passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at U.P. Health System in Marquette, MI.
She was born May 15, 1968 in L’Anse, MI daughter of Frederick and Margaret (Peanut) Shelifoe. Kelly graduated from L’Anse High School and attended Bay Mills and Ojibwa Community College. She lived in Goodman, WI for a few years then moved back to the area and worked at KBIC Daycare, Ojibwa Casino, Holiday Gas Station, The Pines, and most recent at the Rez Stop. Kelly was a member of KBIC. She enjoyed reading, watching soap operas on TV, spending time with her grandchildren and visiting family and friends often.
Surviving are her parents Fred and Margaret Shelifoe of Baraga; children, Shayne McGeshick of Marquette, Dustin Shelifoe of Zeba, Sage Halverson of Zeba, Shantell Wheelock of Baraga, Sawyer Wheelock of Green Bay, WI; siblings, Jeanne Kauppila of Baraga, Jim Fred Shelifoe of Baraga, Mino Sandman Shelifoe of Baraga, Waba Alakayak of Baraga, Bahgi Sandman Shelifoe of Baraga, Wausau Sandman Newhouse of Alaska; step siblings, Jaime Jager of Iron River, Kathleen Gude of Green Bay, Kristine Gude of Iron River, Megan Gude of Baraga; five grandchildren, Keriahna Wheelock, Rosalynn Wheelock, Faith Wheelock, Nasiah Skenandore, Sandra Skenandore; a special friend Cathy Miller of Baraga; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her birth mother, Margaret “Peanut” Shelifoe; aunty, Ginny Ann Jermac; uncles, Joe Decota, Danny Shelafoe , Brian Chosa; siblings, Freddy Shelifoe, Bridgette Shelifoe, Gerald “Jerry” Shelifoe, Allen Shelifoe, Steven Coffin, Cathy Velmer, Victoria Decota; Nephews: Jimmy Jr. , Anson Jacob Alakayak.
Visitation for Kelly will begin on Monday, December 7th at 3:00 p.m. at the KBIC Zeba Hall and will continue until Tuesday at 1:00p.m. when there will be a traditional service. Burial will be in the spring in the Assinins Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
