Kaye Ann Kotila, 65, a resident of Hancock and former Dollar Bay resident, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, while visiting her son in L’Anse following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 8, 1955, in Hancock, MI, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Chopp) Kotila. Kaye was raised in the Hancock area and attended the Hancock School and Soumi College.
Ms. Kotila began a career working as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Cypress Manor Nursing Home before moving to the Houghton County Medical Care Facility from where she retired two years ago from.
Kaye enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping trips with her sister and trips to the casino.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers Gill, Glen and Infant brother Phillip.
Surviving are:
Her children: Erica Kopp, Dustin Doll, Breanne Townsend, Dave Townsend, Daniel Townsend, Billy Autio and Tommy Autio
10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild
Her sisters and brother:
Evelyn Stewart, Diane Greenlees and Gary Kotila
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
A time to remember Kaye Anne Kotila will be held Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 12 noon to 2:00 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral home of Hancock.
A private graveside service for Kaye will be held later this year at the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.
