Kathryn A. Perala, 76, of Hancock, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at her home.
She was born January 4, 1945, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Harold and Ruth (Peterson) Lahti. She grew up in Tapiola and was a graduate of the John A. Doelle High School.
Kathryn worked many years as a home health aide.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Kathryn was an avid reader and Lake Superior agate hunter. She enjoyed painting and gardening. Her greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren whom she loved spending time with, especially at local beaches. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, John Perala; and grandchild, Joshua Becia.
Surviving are her children, Helen Perala, Joan (Mike) Becia, Joseph (Christina) Perala, Joye (Joe) Battisfore, Robert (Hailey) Perala, Ruth (Dave) Whitney, Darrell (Sue) Ehresman, Elizabeth (Mike) Bjorn, Cindy (Dustin) Ford-Allred, John Paul Perala; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Stewart (Mary) Lahti; and dear friends, Paulette, Diane, Shelly and Russell.
The funeral service will be private. Visitation is open to the public from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home in Hancock. In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required.
