Karen Lee Karppinen, 71, a resident of Trimountain, passed away on January 29, 2021 from complications of Covid-19.
She was born in Flint, Mich., on November 9, 1949, the daughter of William and Geraldine Karppinen.
After high school graduation Karen moved to the Copper Country. She was
employed by Portage View Hospital in the facility department.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Emil and Jenny
Karppinen; brother in law, Joseph Goulette; and a friend, Richard Hanner.
Surviving are her sister, Joan Goulette; nephews, Joe (Cara) Goulette, Jeff (Missy) Goulette and Jason (Dianne) Goulette; special friends, Patricia Hanner, Kim Woodside and James Hanner; several great nieces and nephews; uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range, with Vicar Micah Cavaleri to officiate. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the mortuary. In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required. Arrangements are being handled by Antila Funeral Service, Inc.
