HOUGHTON
June M. Haataja, 80, a resident of Arbor Green, Houghton, and former Elo resident, died Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Omega House following a brief illness.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; a daughter, Bonny; two sisters, Ginger and Phyllis; and a brother, Walter. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Haataja of Atlantic Mine; her son, Ernest, Jr. of Elo; a grandson, Eric Kemppainen of Atlantic Mine; a granddaughter, Sarah (Brandon) Mukavetz of Hancock; and four great-grandkids, Dorian, Dexter, Gabrielle and Brandon Mukavetz. Also surviving are her siblings, Richard, Daniel, Michael, Roger, Dennis, Donald, Caroline, Susan and Patricia; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as extended family members.
In accordance with June’s wishes, there will be no public services.
