Obituary: June (Kauthen) Sargent

Lake Linden: June (Kauthen) Sargent, 88, of Lake Linden, passed away on May 12, 2018 at The Lighthouse at Hubbell.
She was born June 28, 1929, in Garden, a daughter of Raymond and Delia Kauthen.
June was married to Frederick Sargent on June 10, 1950. He passed away on March 18, 2015, after 65 years of marriage.
June worked in the cafeteria of St. Joseph School but found her greatest satisfaction being wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and great-grandmother to her family, whom she loved above all else. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Legion Post 90 Auxiliary, where she received her 60 year pin for her service. June had a kind heart and a generous soul, making her home the place where her family could come for comfort, celebrations and sharing memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 8 brothers and sisters-Ione, Earledeen, Joseph, Eleanor, Melvin “Kato,” Cletus, Phyllis, and Gary.
She is survived by: two daughters-Gail (Bruce) Hodges of Bootjack and Brenda Sargent of Saint Clair Shores, MI; grandchildren-Kimberly Hodges, Douglas (Sonora) Hodges, and Holly (Michael) Monette; great-grandchildren-Nicholas, Morgan, Ruby, Benjamin, Olivia, Lucas, and Preston; a great-great-grandchild-Gregory; brother-James; nieces-Linda Cutaiar and Marcia (Larry) Joosten; and many other nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 16, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate. Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
