Fulton
Joyce Pavolich, 83, a resident of Fulton passed away at her home on Thursday, April 25, 2019.
She was born in Fulton, on October 28, 1935, the daughter of the late William and Ellen (Keranen) Luokkanen.
Joyce attended the Mohawk school and Calumet High School, graduating with the class of 1952.
On September 5, 1959 she was united in marriage to Donald Pavolich.
Joyce was employed throughout the years at Oja’s Market, The Keweenaw Mountain Lodge and as Deputy Clerk for Keweenaw County before retiring in 1995.
She enjoyed gardening, doing puzzles, baking, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with her sisters and nieces.
Preceding her in death were her sister June (Bill) Lahti and brother Bill Luokkanen.
Surviving are her husband of almost 60 years Don, sons Mark of Laurium and Matt of Mohawk, grandchildren Chelsea (Ryan), Carissa and Wyatt and grandpup Sarge. Her sister Jane (Carl) Bjorn of Ahmeek and sister-in-law Linda Luokkanen of Fulton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Fulton with Pastor David Taivalkoski to officiate.
Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Monday, April 29th from 4-8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
