Portage Township: Joshua Michael Becia, 19, of Portage Township, died on Sunday, May 6, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident. He was known to many as “Fuzz”, a nickname given to him by his brother, Jordan.
Joshua was born and raised in the Houghton area, a son of Michael and Joan (Perala) Becia. He graduated from Houghton High School in 2016. He was employed at Sayen’s Auto and Ziebart in Houghton.
Joshua was a kind, giving, and compassionate person who loved everything outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, mud bogging, and hockey. He was an extreme Green Bay Packers fan. He lived life to the fullest. He had beautiful blue eyes and a cheerful demeanor. He was happiest spending time with his family and friends. He loved his grandma Ruth’s cooking, especially her gnocchis.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers Gino Becia and John Perala, siblings Joey Becia and Kristin Becia, and their mother, Leann Becia. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Joan Becia of Portage Township; brother Jordan Becia of Bismark, North Dakota; sister Cassidy Becia at home; grandmothers Ruth Becia of Houghton and Kathryn Perala of Hancock; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Monday, May 14, 2018 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton with Rev. Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until noon on Monday at the Church.
