Obituary: Joseph K. Ellenich

Joseph K. “Joe” Ellenich, age 77, of Pelkie, MI passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was born in Hancock, MI on June 22, 1943, the son of the late Joseph J. and Isabelle (King) Ellenich. Joe attended Baraga area schools. He had been employed at Pettibone Corporation for 37 years and retired in 2002. Joe married the former Linda Pelon at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga on January 16, 1965. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Joe was an avid hunter and he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening,

Joe is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children Joseph K. Ellenich of Cedar River, MI, Amy Ellenich of Baraga, Jim (Leann) Ellenich of Waupaca, WI, Jerry (Dawn) Ellenich of Troy, MI, and John (Dustin) Ellenich of Oakland, CA, grandchildren, Jordan, Koni, Kyle, Becka, Kevin, Kelsey, Shelby, Tessa, Elizabeth and Cory, great grandchildren Ayden, Jaxtin, Chole, Isla, Weston, Nina and Krew, and brother Gary (Alica) Ellenich of Cassopolis, MI. Numerous nieces, nephew sand cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Gloria, Francis, Phyliss and Pat and his great grandson Roman.

A memorial funeral service for Joe will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Corey Litner officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 p.m. until the time of the memorial funeral service.

Immediately following the memorial service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at the Baraga Lakeside Inn.
