Joseph Henry Augustine, age 96 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Bayside Village in L’Anse, MI.
He was born December 10, 1924 in Easton, MI son of Henry and Vivian (Kellogg) Augustine. Joseph graduated from Milford High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, from June 1943 to March 1946. Joseph married Barbara Jean Clark on December 5, 1959 in Wixom, MI. He worked for GM in the power plant and safety research. He was a member of the L’Anse United Methodist Church. Joseph enjoyed spending time with family, woodworking, and fishing.
Surviving are his wife Barbara Augustine of L’Anse; son Henry (Laura) Augustine of L’Anse; grandchildren Joseph and Rebecca; sister Lathone (Harold) Render of Manchester, MI.
Preceding him in death are his parents and many siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. John Henry officiating and Baraga County Veterans will conduct military rites. Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
