Obituary: John W. Clark

Calumet–John W. Clark, 69, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.

John was born in Detroit, MI on July 29, 1949, a son of John and Mary Clark-Brown.  He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1970 with nineteen months served in Vietnam.  John was wounded in action and was awarded three Purple Hearts.  He worked for Kowalski Sausage for 20 years and for the US Postal Service for 20 years.  He married Suzanne in 1980 in Detroit, they celebrated 38 years of marriage.

John is preceded in death by his father, John J. Clark, and his mother, Mary J. Clark-Brown, his step-father Alan D. Brown and his brother Robert T. Clark.

John is survived by his wife Suzanne (nee Bommarito), three children John W. II, Shannon (Mark) Hall, and Jessica (Michael) Springer, ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  John is also survived by his brother Patrick L. (Gail) Clark, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 29th at 11 a.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Toth to officiate.  The Copper Country Veterans will conduct military rites.
