John Verbanac, 48, a resident of Calumet passed away suddenly at his home on the evening of Thursday October 8, 2020.
He was born on March 19, 1972 in Laurium to Steve Verbanac and Katherine Berryman. In his younger years, he enjoyed living in Virginia Beach with his mom and step dad.
John loved music! He was an avid drummer in local bands. He was involved with the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and even was an assistant instructor for a few years.
He enjoyed being a pizza delivery driver, and lately loved flying his drone. He was a family oriented man, where he enjoyed spending time and hanging out with his children.
John was an avid sports fan too! He enjoyed playing softball in the local leagues, and enjoyed watching the New England Patriots as well as the Philadelphia Flyers.
On June 9, 2012 he was united in marriage to Jackie Parkin at the platform in Eagle Harbor.
He’s been known to be a good guy, a respectful gentleman, but still not afraid to speak his mind at times.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Gemma Skye Verbanac, his grandfather Clyde “Crusher” Berryman, mom Katherine Teter, and 2 close friends Dave Riutta and Jim Chevalier.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday July 3, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 at the Ray Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton.
