Remaining in the Air Force, John had assignments from Lubbock, Texas to Sondrestrom Greenland and spent the next 20 years serving his country. Returning from Vietnam in 1968, he retired and worked as a civilian for the Navy, Air Force and Army until he retired to Calumet in 1986.
