Obituary: John M. Budreau, Jr.

John M. Budreau, Jr., age 83, of Pelkie, MI passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the Omega House in Houghton, MI. He was born in L’Anse, MI on July 29, 1936 the son of the late John M. and Marjorie (Sicotte) Budreau, Sr. John attended L’Anse area schools. He had been employed as a forklift operator at the former Celotex Corp. until his retirement. In 1956, John married the former Eunice Mantila in Pelkie. He was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie, President of the Baraga County Car Club, Union President of International Woodworkers and a former member of the Pelkie Fair Board. John enjoyed volunteering his time, working on cars and had even built his own 1936 Ford Pickup, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing and watching sports. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. John loved spending time with his family.

John is survived by his loving wife Eunice, children Stanley (Joyce) Budreau of Arnheim, Keith (Debbie) Budreau of Wisconsin, David (Marti) Budreau of Indiana and Diane (Chad) Toll of Minnesota, grandchildren Tim, Troy, Keith, Jessica, J.D. and Brett, great grandchildren Treyton, Kaliyah, Harmony, Lukas, Alise, Karis, Ofelia, Myla and Skylar. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousin also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debra, grandson Jeremy and sisters Shirley and Delores.

Family funeral services for John were held at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 11 am with Pastor D.J. Rasner and Pastor Troy Budreau officiating. Interment took place in the Pelkie Cemetery, Pelkie, MI.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date and announced at that time.
