John “Ian” Terry Jr., 67, a resident of Trimountain passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Up Health Systems – Portage Hospital following a battle with lung cancer.
He was born on June 9, 1955, in Chicago, IL, a son of the late John and Mary (McLean) Terry Sr.. John was raised in the Chicago area and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He then moved to make his home in Milwaukee, WI, and attended MATC Culinary School. Ian began a career as a chef working for the Bradley Center and also teaching for MATC in the Culinary program.
Mr. Terry was a veteran of US Army having served with the 82nd Airborne.
On June 25, 1982, he was united in marriage to Roseann Matysik. The couple resided in the Milwaukee area until 2012 when they moved to Trimountain to be closer to family.
Locally Ian owned and operated a catering business with his wife called Rosian Catering. Along with his love of cooking and food Ian enjoyed collecting rocks and driftwood, watching birds and volunteering with Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly.

His granddaughter: Lilia Cavaleri
His brother & sister: Douglas Terry of Milwaukee, WI

Several nieces, nephews and cousins
His furry companions Lola and Poppy
A memorial service for Ian will be held 10:30 am Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church of South Range with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate. Friends may call on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 10:00 am until time of services at Grace Lutheran Church of South Range.
