John A. Lanyon, 57, a resident of B Street Calumet passed away on Christmas morning.
He was born on July 29, 1963 in Calumet a son of the late John J. and Eva E. (Juntunen) Lanyon. Shortly after his birth he moved to lower Michigan with his family.
He graduated from Henry Ford II High School and later attended Michigan Technological University.
On November 4, 1989 he was married to Lynn Schmitt.
John was currently still working at Northern Hardwoods, where he celebrated 30 years of employment.
He enjoyed motocross, dirtbikes, watching baseball, football and especially the Green Bay Packers. HIs family was very important to him and they would often golf and camp together. He also loved to supervise his kids as they cut his grass and would often tell them that the grass lines weren’t even.
Surviving are: his wife Lynn Lanyon
Daughter: Jessica Lanyon of Calumet
Son: Justin Lanyon of Calumet
Sister: Janet (Ed) Lanyon-Dippel of Troy, MI
Nephews: Jasen and Justen Dippel
Numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service for John will be held in the spring at Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
