Jeffrey Glen Anderson, 57, passed from this life on Saturday, October 12th at Omega House, in Houghton, after a prolonged illness. Jeff was born the youngest child of Jean and LaVerne Anderson in Hancock, on October 2, 1962, and graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1980.
Jeff is survived, by his sister, Lynn (Richard) Wyman of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. His brothers, Iver (Nancy) of Ames, Iowa; Larry (Kathie) of Springfield, Virginia; Brant (Carol) of Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
His is also survived by his nieces and nephews Stephanie Wyman of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Emilie (Paul) Dahlby of Minneapolis; and Jennifer (Brandon) Jones of Honolulu, Hawaii. Alissa Anderson of Chicago, Illinois; Annika (Brandon) Tingley and son Fletcher of Columbus, Ohio; and Erica Anderson of Madison, Wisconsin. Evan Anderson of Columbia, Missouri. Gabriel (Megan) Anderson of Culver City, California; Bethany (Troy) Koeferl, and children Grace and Hudson of West Bend, Wisconsin.
Jeff was a man of strong faith in Christ and enjoyed raising his singing voice and guitar in worship at several congregations in the area. He loved to fish and once caught a Sturgeon off Portage Entry which qualified him as a Michigan Master Angler. He was an avid rock-hound and amassed an extensive native copper and silver collection from the Keweenaw. Jeff was a Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed many games with his family. He was good at pool, dressed with a flair and could stylishly hold the table at Heritage Manor where he lived for several years. Jeff made many good friends throughout his life, with a quick wit, a deep knowledge of many subjects and a genuine caring for the needs and thoughts of others. Jeff was deeply loved by his friends and family and will be missed by those who remain.
Family and friends who gathered around Jeff in his final days would like to thank the staff of Omega House in Houghton for the compassion they provided Jeff and those who loved him while he was in their care. For all who wish to honor Jeff’s life, a donation to Omega House to continue their work is suggested.
A memorial service will be held at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock at 2 pm., Saturday, October 19, 2019, with Pastor TJ Stauffer to officiate. Visitation will be from 1 pm until the time of service. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials be given to the Omega House in Houghton in memory of Jeffrey G. Anderson.
