Jean Peterson, age 94 of L’Anse, MI passed away at Canal View, Hancock, MI on Saturday, March 18, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Jean was born in Ishpeming, MI on March 9, 1929 the daughter of the late Victor and Marie (Auguston) Jackson. She attended school in Ishpeming. On December 27, 1952 she married Howard Peterson at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. Jean had worked as a nurse’s aide and then in central supply at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1988 after 20 years. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, L’Anse. Jean enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling with their camper, gardening, canning, and loved spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her loving husband Howard of Hancock, devoted children Howard (Connie) Peterson of Greenville, MI, and Kim (Rick) Parrish of L’Anse, grandchildren Jeanette (Rich) Krause, Krista (Ben) Wood, and Stacey Johnson, great grandchildren Cody, Alyssa, Jamison, Bryce, Kaiya, and Dru. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
Graveside services for Jean will be held in the Spring in the Evergreen Cemetery and will be announced at that time.
