UPDATE: A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Atlantic Mine Cemetery with Pastor Brahm Semmler Smith to officiate.
Jean V. Olson, 93, of Houghton, passed away on Wednesday March 9, 2022, at Mission Point Nursing & Physical Rehabilitation Center of Hancock.
Jean was born on October 20, 1928, in Toivola, Michigan, a daughter of the late Emil and Ingrid (Honkavara) Lahti. Following her graduation from Jeffers Highschool Jean moved to Detroit, Michigan where she meet and married her husband Robert Olson who preceded her in death in 2016. Jean was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed teaching girl scouts, gardening, sewing, and knitting, and was always at her children and grandchildren’s school events. She held a spark that was loved by many.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Renee Raisanen and Laurie Lask; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Atlantic Mine Cemetery with Pastor Brahm Semmler Smith of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church officiating. There will be no services at this time.
