Jason Tuoriniemi, 48, a resident of Mohawk passed away following an ATV accident in Keweenaw County on Tuesday July 5, 2022.
He was born on June 19, 1974 in Laurium son to William and Bonnie (Laurie) Tuoriniemi.
Jason graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1992. He then went on to attend Michigan State University in the turf management program.
He traveled between Florida and Michigan over the years working as a greens keeper and superintendent at various courses.
Locally he was currently employed at McGrath Roofing.
Preceding him in death was his father William, paternal grandparents Ernest and Elvira Tuoriniemi and maternal grandparents Ted and Mabel Laurie.
Surviving are: His mother Bonnie Tuoriniemi (Dave Shannon) of Ahmeek
Girlfriend: Janna Ojala
Brothers: Joel (Julianne) Tuoriniemi of Mohawk
Jesse Tuoriniemi of Mohawk
Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends that enriched Jason’s life. He certainly did ours.
Private family services will be held in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Pastor Larry Molloy to officiate. Jason’s family extends their sincere thanks to all local law enforcement, fire department, and first responder groups that helped at the scene of his accident.
