Laurium – James Paul Seppala passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 22, 2019.
James was born in Laurium on February 6, 1948 to Robert and Margaret (Osterman) Seppala. Surviving are his son Shawn (Arianna) of North Las Vegas, NV; brother Robert of Laurium; sisters Linda (Stephen) Wilmers of Laurium; and Diane (Michael) Supanich of Kearsarge, many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, and brothers David and Gary.
Jim was a Viet Nam war veteran and a member of VFW Post 3900. After graduating high school, Jim went to work in construction with most of his career working for Palosaari Construction and he continued with projects even after retirement, continuing to live a life of purpose. Jim loved his many travels to Las Vega, was an avid gardener, enjoyed camping and all animals. He was skilled in many trades with the result to accomplish everything to perfection.
The family wishes to sincerely thank all who cared for Jim during his illness. Private services will be held. Ryan Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
