James H. “Jim” Gustafson, age 49, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and formerly of L’Anse, Michigan passed away at his home in Oshkosh on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. He was born in L’Anse, MI on May 14, 1971 the son of Richard “Dick” and Shirley (Pettersen) Gustafson. Jim graduated from L’Anse High School. He attended Michigan Tech and received his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jim was employed at Multi-Conveyors, LLC as a design engineer. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing football, hockey, shooting, trapping and was president of the Trap Association in Oshkosh, and was an avid Lions fan. Jim loved barbecuing and he and his friends would often have barbecue competitions.
Jim is survived by his loving parents, Dick and Shirley Gustafson of L’Anse, brother Robert “Bob” Gustafson of Denver, Colorado, 3 nephews Jeremy, Bob and Kyle, his aunt Rosie (Don) Funke of L’Anse and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his aunt and uncle Vivian and Art Allert.
Private family services will be held. Internment will take place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
