Jackson David Tikkanen, age 13, of Baraga, MI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, 2022. He was born in Marquette, MI on June 3, 2008, the son of David and Sheri (Santti) Tikkanen. Jackson attended Baraga Area Schools. He was a member of United Lutheran Church, L’Anse. Jackson loved swimming and growing up on the lake and could be found swimming from June until October. He enjoyed gaming and reading. Jackson had started reading at the age of 2. He was a very smart young man.
Jackson is survived by his loving parents, David and Sheri Tikkanen of Baraga, brother Austin (McKenzie) Santti of Baraga, niece Addysn, grandfather Donald (Margo) Santti of Watton, grandmother Lois Ahola of L’Anse, uncles Erik Santti of Watton, and John (Anne) Tikkanen of Belgrade, Montana, aunts Viktoria (James) Klein of Pelkie, Karen (Jack) Davin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bonny (Scott) Connor of Skanee, JoAnne (George) Danielson of Keweenaw Bay, and Renee (Cliff) Picotte of Ontonagon. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
A memorial funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 with Pastor John Ansell officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service. Immediately following the funeral service, the family invites friends to a potluck luncheon at the Keweenaw Bay Fire Hall, Keweenaw Bay, MI.
