Jack Keith McIntyre, age 75 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 21, 1942 in Cadillac, MI son of Roy and Mary (Ross) McIntyre. Jack grew up in L’Anse and Ironwood where he attended school. He was in the US Army, 101st Airborne, from May 1959 until April 1961. Jack had married and lived in the Milwaukee area prior to moving back to L’Anse. He married Kathy Miller on May 24, 1986. Jack was an iron worker with the Union Local 8 out of Marquette; in 1974 he took a medical retirement.
Jack was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He enjoyed hunting, camping, gardening, fishing with friends and family, being with his black labs Hunter and Fisher.
Surviving are his wife Kathy McIntyre of L’Anse; children, Grace McIntyre of Lake Linden, MI, Roy (Brenda) McIntyre of Lake Linden, MI, Angeline McIntyre of Inverness, FL, Cindy (Jon) McIntyre-Williams of Dothan, AL, Brian (Kristy Thorold) McIntyre of Skanee, MI; brothers, Ron (Diane) McIntyre of Ironwood, MI, Denny (Brenda) McIntyre of Crivitz, WI, Gary McIntyre of Ironwood, MI; sister Susie; grandchildren, Dylan McIntyre-Green, Wyatt McIntyre; nephews Shawn and Ryan McIntyre; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and a sister Shari.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 17th from 12-2 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites under the direction of the American Legion Post 444 at 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery in the spring.
