Hubert “Butch” LeRue, a resident of Baltic passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 14, 2022, at the UP – Marquette Hospital shortly after being admitted.
He was born on August 9, 1946, in L’Anse, MI, a son of the late Hubert and Doris (Sipe) LeRue Sr. Butch was raised in L’Anse and Pelkie and was a graduate of the Baraga High School with the class of 1965. He then worked various jobs in the area such at Pettibone and for Baraga County Concrete. Hubert began a career working for the Village of Baraga. During that time he was an apprentice Lineman and was able to retire as the village electrician. In retirement, Butch had worked with the New Day Treatment Center for a number of years.
Mr. LeRue was a former member of the Baraga Village Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with family and friends playing cards, canning, hunting and fishing. His true passion was working in his garden and helping others any time that he could. Hubie always embraced life to its fullest he truly tried to always place others before himself and was at his best when he could lend a helping hand.
Butch will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

A service for Butch will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service Mountain View Chapel of South Range with Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Spring burial with military honors will be in the Mt. View Cemetery of South Range.
A visitation for Butch will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 11 am to 1:00 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service Mt. View Chapel of South Range.
