Obituary: Heather M. Saari

    Heather Marie Saari, 37, a resident of Chassell passed away at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

     She was born on September 27, 1985, in Hancock a daughter of Charles Saari and Barbara Curran.  Heather was raised in Houghton and attended the Houghton and Calumet Schools.  

     Heather had worked in the food service departments of UP Health Systems – Portage, Michigan Technological University and Keweenaw Aspirus Hospital.

     Heather enjoyed being outdoors whether it be rock hunting, going for hikes or working in her garden.  She also enjoyed traveling and was proud to have completed the full Lake Superior Circle Tour. Heather loved visiting with her friends and family. Her selfless acts of kindness will be remembered by all of her family and close friends. 

     Preceding her in death was her grandfather; Ronald Saari.

     Surviving are: Her mother: Barbara Curran

                             Her father: Charles Saari

                             Her siblings: Nicole Saari, Ben Kieranen and Brandon Kieranen

                             Her grandparents: Ron & Sharon Curran and Lorraine Saari.

              Her aunts and uncles: Robert (Rachaelle) Curran, Randy (Lauren) Curran, Cathy (Dan) Kolehmainen, Vickie Saari, Ronald Saari, Karen (Bruce) Huhta, James (Jackie) Saari, Laura (Ron) Olson, Tammy (Steven) Verville, Fay (Dan) Bishop, David Saari

              Numerous cousins

     As requested, a private celebration of Heather’s life will be held by her family at a later time.
