Glenn E. Mongeau, 64, a resident of Mohawk passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
He was born on April 9, 1953 to William and Anna (Waara) Mongeau in Laurium.
Glenn attended Calumet High School and graduated with the Class of 1971.
Following high school Glenn enlisted with the United States Air Force. Glenn served with the Air Force for 20 years, retiring in January of 1994.
After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he began working for Keweenaw County. He worked for the Keweenaw County Road Commission and the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Department in the jail.
Glenn was an avid Detroit Red Wings Fan, he never missed watching a game!
He loved to travel, he recently went to Hawaii for his third time.
He was a family man. His family meant the world to him.
Glenn was a member of the American Legion Post 230 of Mohawk.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Waara-Mongeau.
He is survived by:
His brother: Don Mongeau of Gurnee, IL
His sister: Nancy (Francis) DeMarois of Calumet
Very Special Friend: Marge Mikkola of Laurium
And by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held on at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Pastor Ken Toth to officiate. Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Burial will take place in the spring at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
