Geraldine “Geri” Seavoy, 79 of L’Anse, MI passed away at her home on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
Geri was born on May 09,1942 in Skanee, MI the third of nine children to Homer and Dorothy (Glover) Collins. On April 19, 1958 she was united in marriage to Daniel Seavoy. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2007. Together they raised two boys, Greg “Fibz” and David who they shared their immense love of the woods, mountains, fishing and card playing with.
During her life, Geri was a homemaker, an employee of Baraga County Memorial Hospital in both the kitchen and laundry but her favorite job was working at Snyder Drug store in downtown L’Anse. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of L’Anse.
Geri is survived by her loving sons, Greg “Fibz” and David. Grandchildren Sarah, Kelley (Chris), Dylan and Dusty. Great Grandchildren Stella, Ava, Deegan and Valerie. Brother Scott (Cindy) Collins of L’Anse, Luci (Dan) Dupras of Crystal Falls, Christine (Joe) Brazeau of L’Anse, Patti VanAble (Bob Hollon) of L’Anse, and Laurie Collins of Oregon, Sisters-in-law Emy LaPlante of L’Anse, Jeanne Seavoy of White Lake, Mona Collins of Skanee, brother-in-law Duke (Carol) Seavoy of Skanee, special friend Mark (Melz) Seavoy of L’Anse, special nephew Ronald (Egga) Everson and her cat Maggie. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Geri was preceded in death by her husband Dan Seavoy, daughter-in-law Amber, brother Homer “Smokey” and sisters Nancy Everson and Sandy Hansen, Brothers-in-law Scott Seavoy and Larry LaPlante.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
