Gerald N. “Jerry” Erickson, 82, a resident of Dollar Bay, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
Jerry was born on September 2, 1939, in Hancock, the son of the late William and Effie (Simula) Erickson. He was a graduate of Hancock High School with the class of 1957. He worked various job, including mining and teaching auto mechanics before becoming the owner and operator of Jerry’s Transmission in Ripley.
Jerry was united in marriage to the former Judith Dormanen in 1961. He was a member of Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock.
Preceding him in death besides his parents is a sister, Diane Ek.
Surviving is his wife Judy Erickson
His children:
Kristen (Lyle) Uskoski, Ben (Laura) Erickson, Ted (Barb) Erickson, Nels (Mary) Erickson, Ward (Jodi) Erickson, Evan (Celeste) Erickson, Travis (Michelle) Erickson, Frans (Keli) Erickson, Ann (Chuck) Ritola.
Multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His siblings: MaryAnn (Richard) Rosenlund, Bill (Kathleen) Erickson, Virginia Erickson, Margie (George) Denofre, Leo (Joan) Erickson, Julene (Tom) Dahlgren, Joe (Cecilia) Erickson, Jack (Mary) Erickson, Connie (Richard) Hammerstrom.
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Christian friends.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock with Ron Jouppe to officiate. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
Friends may call on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 4-8 pm at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock and again on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the funeral service.
