Gerald Earl Maki, age 86 of Elo, Michigan passed away on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at Bayside Village in L’Anse, MI.
He was born June 17, 1937 in Elo, MI son of Leonard and Sophie (Autio) Maki. He attended the John A. Doelle School and graduated in 1955.
He was in the U. S. Army stationed in Germany until discharged in 1962. Gerald attended Soumi College and Northern Michigan University. He taught school in Owasso, MI until his retirement.
Gerald is survived by one brother Edwin Maki of Elo, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters Eleanor Dacko and Ethel Haka; two brothers, Leonard and Clarence Maki.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 11 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home with Ken Storm officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elo Cemetery with military rites.
