Genevieve Lanfranki, 84, of Calumet passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 1, 2021.
The former Genevieve Marie Lencioni was born in Calumet on August 4, 1937. She was the youngest child of the late Natale and Mary Lencioni. She attended Sacred Heart School in Laurium and graduated with the class of 1955. On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Joseph “Dodo” Lanfranki at Sacred Heart Church. They were blessed with 61 years together, and as they always said, “every day is a blessing.” They leave behind nothing but beautiful memories for their family to treasure. Joseph preceded her in death on September 13, 2018.
She is also preceded in death by her sister Delphine (Roy) Makolin, brother Angelo (Ruby) Lencioni, sister-in-law Mary Ann Thomas and brothers-in-law Walt Kilberg and Reuben Moilanen.
She is survived by her five children: Joe Lanfranki, Mary Jo (Larry) Kristapovich, Judy (Steve) Gilbert, Jackie (David) Aalto, and Julie (Paul) Anttila, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her dear sister Tina Kilberg, sister-in-law Angie Moilanen and brother-in-law Bert Thomas, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 pm on Friday, November 5, 2021, at St. Anthony Hall at Sacred Heart Church in Calumet. The funeral mass will follow at 3 pm with Father Gracious Pulimoottil to officiate.
The family would like to thank the special ladies who lovingly cared for their mom. The care they provided will always be remembered. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family wishes that the love shown to their mom be shared with all.
