Frances Mary (Benson) Kangas, 86, of Lake Linden, passed away on Monday, May 10 at U.P. Health System-Marquette.
She was born on April 8, 1935 to the late Francis George and Margaret Eloise Farrell of Cleveland, Ohio. Locally, she was employed for eight years at the Copper Nugget in Hancock and three years for the MSHDA program before retiring.
She was married to Carl “Kenny” Kangas on February 28, 1975. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2013.
She is survived by her sons John Robert Benson of Calumet and Ernest James Benson of Hubbell. She has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services. Internment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. The O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock is in charge of the arrangements. To leave online condolences, please go to www.oneilldennisfh.com.
