As received from the Memorial Chapel & Plowe Funeral Homes:
Dodgeville
Florence Katherine (Little) Burich, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2020, following a brief illness. She was born in Dodgeville on August 19, 1923 to Charles and Pearl (Hearn) Little.
Florence attended the Isle Royale School and was a 1941 graduate of Houghton High School. On August 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Frank Burich, who preceded her in death in January of 1998. Her life was a wonderful example of living in faith. She enjoyed visiting the residents at local nursing homes and was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Houghton where she served on several committees over the years. She loved her gardens and looked forward to spring and summer when her yard became most colorful. Some of her favorite pastimes were senior league bowling, golfing with sister-in-law Dee, and playing Scrabble with the girls. Florence was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always ready for a family get-together. Her door was always open for anyone to stop by and visit over a cup of coffee and sweets.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, stepfather Joseph Moyle; infant brother Frederick Little, sister Margaret Anderson, brother-in-law Carl Anderson, and great-grandson Isaac Lahti. Surviving are brother Charles (Dee) Little of Houghton; daughters, Joan (Bob) Wuthrich of Chassell, Jean Burich of Chassell; grandchildren Jennifer (Brooks) Lahti of Eau Claire, WI, Leann (Spenser) Mango of Colorado Springs, CO, and Michael (Anitra Estrada and daughter Cyra) Wuthrich of Colorado Springs, CO; great-grandchildren Kayden Mango, Aria Mango, and Braylin Lahti, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We, Florence’s daughters, will always, always remember her for her love, selflessness, and grace. We couldn’t be more proud to call her Mom.
We wish to express heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Sigurds Janners for his exceptional care of mom over the years. We’ve never known anyone who looked forward to doctor appointments as much as mom. Thank you, too, to the Omega House staff for their kind and compassionate spirit.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held for Florence at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton with Pastor Chuck Williams officiating.
