Felix Mickus age 96 passed away June 10, 2022. He was born April 23,1926 in South Range Mi where he worked in the family store until joining the Navy during WWII. Upon discharge he returned to South Range and attended Michigan Tech University earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He met the love of his life, Lois Ann (Harrington) and married Dec.17, 1949. They moved to Flint, MI where he was a professor of engineering at General Motors Institute until retirement. They retired to Sun City West AZ to enjoy the mild winters and returned every summer to Michigan to cruise the Great Lakes with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years Lois Ann (Harrington) Mickus, Sun City West AZ, Parents Andrew and Isabella Mickus, Miami Florida, Brother Albert and (Rosella) Mickus, Racine, Wisconsin, Sister Mildred and Doug Erwin, Roxbury Ct, He is survived by Daughter Chris and ( Larry) Roe, Loudon TN, Sons Andrew and (Tammy) Mickus, Dexter MI, Jason and (Debbie) Mickus, Davison MI, Grandchildren Brian and (Jana) Roe, Murfreesboro,TN, Tony and (Danielle) Mickus, Davison MI, Austin Mickus, Lansing MI, Nicole and (Troy) Lescher, Eureka CA, Great Grandchildren Brenna (Aaron) Jones, Murfreesboro TN, Benjamin Mickus, Davison MI, Oskar Lescher, Eureka CA, Great-Great Grandchildren Elena Rose Jones, Murfreesboro, TN, Odin James Jones, Murfreesboro TN, Sister-in-law Betty Reid of L’Anse, MI, Beloved Nieces and Nephews.
Military honors and graveside services for Felix will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022 in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Father Corey Litzner officiating the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be directed to Baraga County Home Care and Hospice, 18341 US 41, L’Anse, MI 49946 or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Broad St, L’Anse.
