Obituary: Eva M. Harry Chimino

Eva M. Harry Chimino, 97, of Houghton, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the Omega House in Houghton.

She was born in Baltic on May 6, 1925 to the late Louis and Armeda (Graziani) Perfetti and she attended schools in Painesdale. Eva lived in Baltic and Atlantic Mine until later moving to Houghton. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known as a kind and giving person and had a very strong faith. She was a wonderful cook and knitter, and liked playing card games, especially Pinochle.

Eva was first married to Jacob Harry. After he passed away, she later married David Chimino on June 25, 1985. He preceded her in death in 2019.

Eva was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock and also belonged to the Third Order of Saint Francis.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 sons-in-law, Michael Carne and John Desiatto.

She is survived by her children, Judith Carne of Dollar Bay, Thomas Harry of Houghton, Carol Desiatto of Calumet, and Lori Adams of Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Michele, Kristin, Christina, Jessica, Olivia, and Emily; 7 great- grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Isaac, Alex, Elizabeth, Liam, and Sophie; and by nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Father Jubish Joseph and Rev. Father Gracious Polimoottil to officiate. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in South Range. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 on Monday before the mass.
