Eric Gerard Dufek, age 57 , long time resident of Pelkie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday February 19, 2024.
Eric was born in Ypslanti, MI on December 1, 1966. Son of Maureen (Dufek) Tormala and Carl Tackett. He married his high school sweetheart Pamela (Laux) Dufek on April 1, 1989 in L’Anse. Eric was a union member of Operating Engineer Local 324. He worked for Bacco Construction for 35 years. He took great pride and dedication to the company and the people he worked for and with. Eric thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing, camping & Sunday family BBQs. He was a very proud father & papa.
Surviving are his wife Pamela Dufek of Pelkie; children, Joshua (Shannon) Dufek of Baraga. Rebecca (Jordan) Maki of Alston. Amanda (Dillon) Velmer of Pelkie; mother Maureen Tormala of Baraga; brother, Carlos (Sharon) Tackett of Crossville, TN; mother-in-law Helen Laux of Alston; and 8 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his father Carl Tackett, father-in-law Corbin Laux, and sister Diane Dufek.
Per Eric’s wishes, a grave side burial will be held in Spring in the Alston Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
