Hancock: Elmer Allan Jolly, 96, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.
He was born on July 20, 1922 in Lake Linden to the late Euclide and Rose (Paquette) Jolly and he attended Lake Linden Schools. During World War II he served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946.
For many years he was an orderly at a Minneapolis Hospital until he retired. He moved to Florida for a short time before returning to the Copper Country. While here, he resided mostly at Lake View Manor in Hancock.
He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden and enjoyed water color and oil painting as a hobby.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Darlene (Dave) Jarvi of Calumet.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery (section 10) in Lake Linden with the Copper Country Veterans Association conducting military honors.
