As received from the Jacobson Funeral Home:
Elizabeth Ann Maki, age 61, of L’Anse, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 11th, 2022. She was currently a resident of Bayside Village in L’Anse. Elizabeth had been in poor health for many years, but still had “Sisu” to forge on. However, with her health diminishing further, she was placed in hospice care for the past several weeks and stated to all around her that she was indeed ready to go home with the Lord.
She was born August 4, 1961 in L’Anse, Michigan, the daughter of Eugene and Viola (Kemppainen) Maki. Elizabeth graduated from L’Anse High School in 1979. She worked as a nurses aid at Lind Manor in Iowa for two years and then at Winkler’s Nursing Home in L’Anse.
Elizabeth attended the Pelkie Gospel Hall. She loved to recite Bible verses and sing hymns. She enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, and crocheting. Elizabeth loved being with family and had a lot of friends at Bayside and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her brother Melvin Maki of Houghton, Michigan; sisters, Carol (John) Seppanen of L’Anse, Mary (Tom) Spradlin of Pelkie, Michigan; nephew Kevin Nesselroad; nieces, Kristy Seppanen of L’Anse and Julie (Micah) Petoskey of Baraga.
Preceding her in death are her parents Eugene and Viola Maki as well as nephew Donald “Donnie” Nesselroad.
A private family service will be held. Burial will be in the Pelkie Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
