Obituary: Elaine M. Erickson

Elaine M. Erickson, age 89, of L’Anse, MI passed away at her daughter’s home surround by her loving family on Monday, September 14, 2020. She was born in L’Anse, MI on January 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Clifford and Marie (Cheaviler) Whitty. Elaine graduated from L’Anse High School. She married Donald Erickson in L’Anse on September 10, 1949. Elaine enjoyed going out to eat and having her hair done. She maintained her sense of humor and wanted everyone to know that “she did not die from COVID-19.”

Elaine is survived by her loving family; her husband Donald Erickson of L’Anse, children Donna (Robert) Baxter of Skanee. Ann (Paul) LeClaire of L’Anse, Cindy (Rick) LaPlante of Skanee and Jim (Laurie) Erickson of New Mexico, grandchildren Michelle LeClair, Kraig Baxter, Jarod (Elin) LeClaire, Josh (Rylie) Erickson, Betsy Erickson, Charlie Erickson, Gabe Erickson, Andrew Erickson, Tina (Andy) Heikkinen and John Erickson, great grandchildren Harlie and John and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, her son Bob Erickson, and grandsons Jon LeClair and PJ LeClaire.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
