Edward Z. Cosellian, 101, a resident of Calumet passed away on Saturday October 7, 2023 at PortagePointe in Hancock.
He was born on December 17, 1921 in Detroit, the son of the late Mike and Norma (Sarafian) Cosellian.
Ed served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946 as Chief Electrician’s Mate on the USS Mayrant DD-402. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during action in the Mediterranean in 1943.
On August 19, 1950 he was united in marriage to Gloria Marie Olson at the Olson family farm in Calumet.
After their marriage they lived in Detroit and Berkley Michigan before retiring to Calumet. He was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet.
Preceding him in death were his wife Gloria Cosellian, sister Alice (Cosellian) Castro, brother-in laws Rudy Castro, Doug Presnell, Charles (Virginia) Olson and John Olson. His father-in-law and mother-in-law Eli and Mary (Muskos) Olson.

15 Great Grandchildren:
Nora, Molly, Paulina, Peter, Hannah, Beau, Blake, Sadie, Annie, Taylor, Ted, Alex, Marshall, Ben and Ethan.

There will be a private graveside funeral on October 17 at Lake View Cemetery in Calumet with Mark Halonen to officiate.
The family would like to thank the staff at Portage Pointe for the care they gave our father and grandfather.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
