Edward Lynn Saari, age 58 of Baraga, MI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2018 at his home.
He was born April 4, 1960 in Hancock, MI son of Edward and Betty (Smith) Saari. Ed graduated from Baraga High School. He married Lynn Butala on March 20, 1993 in Baraga. Ed worked with FEMA, Selkey Manufacturing, and for the KBIC Head Start as a bus driver for the past few years.
Ed was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Baraga. He was a volunteer fireman in Calumet, and a volunteer for Little Brother’s Friends of the Elderly. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, and the outdoors. He was always active doing things and if anybody needed anything he was always there to lend a helping hand.
Surviving are his mother Betty Saari of Baraga; brother Joey of Clearwater, FL; sisters, Joy of Nebraska, Betsy of Ocala, FL; step sons, Jason, Daniel, and Eric Basto; and a granddaughter Jaid.
He is preceded in death by his father Edward Saari and his wife Lynn.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 17th from 10-11 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Julie Belew officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
