Obituary: Dyson D. Bastian

Atlantic Mine/Williston, ND

Dyson D. Bastian, 24, a former resident of Atlantic Mine and current resident of Williston, ND, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, from injuries received in an accident.

He was born on April 16, 1995, in Lexington, North Carolina, a son of Todd and Lori (Koski) Bastian. Dyson was raised in the Copper Country where he attended the South Range Elementary school and graduated from the Houghton High School with the class of 2013.

Dyson then worked in the Oil Fields in North Dakota before attending Gogebic Community College for a short time. He returned to work in the North Dakota Oil Fields for Noble Casing but returned home to the Copper Country every chance that he could. Dyson’s fun-loving personality touched everyone that he met, he enjoyed playing hockey, football and golf. He also loved spending time in the outdoors.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandmother Barbara Koski, his paternal grandfather Donald Bastian and his Debi Koski-Colclasure

His brothers & sisters: Corson (Emma) Bastian of Spanish Fork, UT

Decker Bastian of Atlantic Mine
His niece and nephew: Warren and Oakley Bastian
His paternal grandmother: Virginia Bastian of Houghton
Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins

A time to celebrate Dyson’s life will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Hope Fellowship Church in Houghton from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A service to remember Dyson will begin at 5:00 pm with Pastor John Kangas to officiate.
