Donald H. Fish, age 82 of Baraga, MI passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 25, 1939 in L’Anse, MI son of Donald and Isabelle (Johnson) Fish. Don graduated from L’Anse High School. He served in the US Army from May 1956-May 1959 and was stationed in Germany, then was in the National Guard. Don married Barbara Mahr on February 11, 1961 in Ahmeek, MI and they resided in Baraga. He retired from the State of Michigan where he worked for 27 years. Don enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and wintering in Florida.
Surviving are his wife Barbara Fish of Baraga; sons, Steve (Diane) Fish of Kronnenwetter, WI, Scott (Linda) Fish of Franklin, TN, Joe (Beth) Fish of Baraga; brothers, Jack Fish of L’Anse, Bob (Betty Kay) Fish of Baraga, Doug FIsh of Salt Lake City, UT; sisters, Sharon (Arnie) Putula of Baraga, Helen “Sugar” Tikkinen of L’Anse; grandchildren, Steven, Peter, Jordan, Jessi, Julie (Quinton) Dormandy, Breanne, Mariah, Morgan, Joseph; great grandchildren, Ryan, Lincoln, Manhatten, Rylan, Bentley, Reign, Neveah; numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 3nd from 10-11:00 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Corey Officiating. Burial will be in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites under the direction of American Legion Post 444. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post 444 in Baraga. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
