Don Deiro 67, of Hubbell passed away Thursday April 22nd at home following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born August 17th 1953 in Hubbell, a son of Carl and Barbara (DeMars) Deiro. Graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School with the class of 1971. He married Gail Vollmer on June 7th 1974. After high school he served 2 years in the United States Army. He worked for 25 years at Celotex Corp. Followed by a career as an electrician with the IBEW local 219 until his retirement. He was a member of the Hubbell Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years, where he served as fire chief. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 90.
Don enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and Thimbleberry picking. Don was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan and loved to watch the Packers win and the Lions lose every week.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Barbara.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Gail. Don had a special place in his heart for his children Kelly (Mark) Grandinetti of Sault Ste. Marie ON, Jessica (Brad) Pini of Hubbell, Chris Deiro of Wixom, MI and Grand Children Audrey Grandinetti, Julia Deiro, and Dayne Pini. He is also survived by his sister Sandy LaMothe and brother Carl (Debbie) Deiro; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His family would like to thank Dr. McConnon for all the attention and care he gave to Don during his illness.
The visitation will be Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1:00 until 4:00 PM at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden. Masks are required and social distancing guidlines will be followed. A private Funeral Service will be held.
