Obituary: Dominic C. Feira, Jr.

South Range: Dominic C. Feira, Jr., 82, of South Range, passed away at Canal View~Houghton County on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

     He was born on April 8, 1937 in Painesdale to the late Dominic, Sr. and Josephine (Aimone) Feira. He attended local schools and graduated from Jeffers High School in 1956. Dominic spent most of his working career at Michigan Tech, retiring after 30 years in 1995.

     He married Susan Siller of Hancock on October 16, 1971, being married for 48 years.

     Dominic was a life-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Range. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also liked projects that involved fixing things, remodeling, and spending time at his camp at Lake Gerald.

     Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Irma. He is survived by his wife, Susan Feira of South Range; daughter Danelle (Craig) Campbell of Kingsford; son Dominic (Jessica Cahill) Fiera of Rochester, NY; grandchildren Anna Marie and Marissa Campbell; one expected grandson; two sisters: Mamie (Al Morin) Karppinen and Josephine Rockett; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Reverend Father John Martignon to officiate.

Spring burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in South Range.

     Friends may call at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M. on Tuesday before the funeral.
