Obituary: Dolores “Dee” Little

Dolores “Dee” Little, 92, a resident of Superior Rd., Houghton passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Woodland Haven of Canal View—Houghton County where she had been a resident patient.

Dee was born on July 30, 1930, in Chicago, IL to Selma (Patana) and Gustav William Trolin.

She attended the Houghton Canal Redridge School and graduated from Houghton High School.

On June 6, 1953, Dee married Charles Little at the St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hancock.

She was employed at General Motors in Detroit and then the Michigan State University Cooperative Extension Service for 25 years until her retirement in 1989. While at the Extension Office, Dee made many lasting friendships with co-workers and bosses.

Dee has been a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Houghton since 1955. She was also a 4-H leader and a volunteer with International Neighbors, Calumet Theater and Portage Health.

Dee is survived by her children; Karen (Duane) Aho, Mark (Vicki) Little, and Randy (Carol) Little; Grandchildren; Heather (Ryan) Bishop, Ryan (Rosemary) Aho, Mark Jr. (Krystal) Little, Jay (Megan) Little, Nathanial (Alecyn) Little, Eric (Michelle) Little, Adam (Katherine) Little; Great-Grandchildren: Brittany, Jocelyn, Emmett and Austin Bishop; Megan and Jake Little; Vera and Ryder Little;  Remi and Sophie Little; Also, several first cousins in Sweden.

She was preceded in death by brothers-in-law: Frank Burich and Carl Anderson; sisters-in-law: Florence Burich and Margaret Anderson.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Woodland Haven Canal View for the wonderful care they provided to their mother.

Dee’s memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Houghton on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 11:00 am

Visitation at the church will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace United Methodist Church or the Omega House would be appreciated.
