Obituary: Dolores C. Maki

Dolores Celeste Audet-Maki, 92, formerly of Baltic passed away March 19, 2018, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, with her family by her side.

Born to Charles and Eva (Leveque) Audet, joining a brother and sister.  They raised their family in Ontonagon and later moved to Boston Mass.

Dolores met and Married Harold B. Tinsley while he was serving in the Navy in Boston Mass. They Raised 4 children in Ontonagon, MI and his home town of Aiken, SC.  After they parted ways she married Wilbert H. Maki, they added a daughter to their family.  They moved from Ontonagon to Baltic where Dolores resided until becoming a resident patient at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility, where she resided for the last seven years.

Dolores did waitress work for many years became before becoming an CNA working at St. Joseph’s Hospital/Portage View Hospital and also as a home health aide retiring at age 75.

     Dolores loved people and had a wonderful sense of humor, she enjoyed traveling, dancing, camping and taking long rides around the Copper Country with family and friends.

     She is survived by her five children Donna (Jim) Wade, Tina (Bill) Klosky, Gail (John) Baima, Mark (Nancy) Tinsley and Margie (Steve) Bevel, her 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and her great great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     She will be greatly missed by her children and family who are very grateful for the loving care she received during her stay at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.

     A private family memorial service for Dolores will take place at a later time.
